Snappy trap installation6/12/2023 ![]() ![]() No previous plumbing experience necessary. I have a similar issue in the bathroom vanity and plan to just use the 1-1/4" bathroom version. Install the plumbing for your kitchen sink easily and without leaks with this SnappyTrap drain Kit. Now you have to combine the vents from the wyes and tie that back into the existing vent. ![]() The trap ended up close to the wall in my installation, freeing valuable cabinet space and putting it out of harm's way. FWIW, you do have an option that only requires messing with the galvanized vent pipe, not the drains: each side goes trap - trap arm - rolled up wye for vent - combine the fixture drains on the horizontal - connect to existing san-tee. I ran hot water over the flexible PVC hose to soften it before bending. A bit of glycerine-based lubricant on each seal eases assembly without damage to the seals but isn't required. I especially appreciated the wingnut-style fasteners that eased the process of hand-tightening the connections. The Snappy Trap solved all the alignment issues and included good-quality rubber seals, including for the wall fitting and the sink drain connection to the included tailpiece. The kit comes with everything you might need, from a sink drain extender to extra adapters. I could add more fittings with a third trip to the store, with additional potential leak points, but instead searched for a better solution and found this. A quick search on Amazon revealed a similar product called Snappy Trap. The marvel adapter under my sink was about an inch too low for a normal sink tailpiece and two inches too far to the right for a standard trap. Need to install a P trap Make sure the new one matches the material of the old one so everything continues to work properly. I'm finishing a kitchen remodel and came across this product after buying a dozen standard parts but still not managing quite the right combination to reach the wall. ![]()
